Spearfish Sasquatch
The Spearfish Sasquatch is a collegiate summer baseball team based in Spearfish, South Dakota. Established in 2017, they compete in Independence League Baseball, offering affordable, family-friendly entertainment. The team emphasizes community involvement, including a host family program that fosters lasting relationships between players and local families.
Hunter Tillman Foundation
The Hunter Tillman Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the memory of Hunter Tillman by providing scholarships to students entering the medical or special education fields. Hunter faced significant medical challenges throughout his life, and the foundation aims to support future professionals who can make a difference in similar situations.
Festival of Trees
The Festival of Trees is a beloved annual tradition celebrated in Spearfish, Belle Fourche, Whitewood, and Lead/Deadwood, bringing communities together through festive displays of beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, and holiday decor. Each event encourages local involvement, fosters holiday spirit, and raises essential funds to support local charities, community projects, scholarships, and nonprofit initiatives.
Chutes For Charity
Chutes for Charity is a non-profit organization focused on supporting local youth and community members in need. Through various fundraising events, including rodeo activities, they provide financial assistance, scholarships, and support for medical expenses to enhance the well-being of the community.
Jake Bourne Suicide Awareness
The Jake Bourne Suicide Awareness initiative was established in memory of Jake Bourne to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention. Through community events, educational programs, and support networks, the initiative aims to reduce stigma and provide resources for those affected by mental health challenges.
Spearfish Spartans Booster
The Spearfish Spartans Booster Club is dedicated to supporting the athletic programs of Spearfish High School. Through fundraising efforts and community engagement, the booster club provides financial assistance for equipment, facilities, and scholarships, enhancing the student-athlete experience.
